In his last race, Dougie rode the latest addition to the Maxilead Metals racing team ‘Blue Nymph’ at Doncaster and secured an impressive win.
Keep an eye on them both next time they are out together, at this year’s Cheltenham Festival in March - Lets hope they are in with a chance. 
Maxilead Metals Ltd, the leading metal processing company in the Northwest are giving customers the chance to win up to £100 cash in time for Christmas.
On arrival at Maxilead Metals, customers are being handed a specially designed Maxilead Metals scratch card, each having a chance of winning a cash prizes ranging from £10 to £100, at their metal processing centre on Mosley Common Road, Tyldesley.
Unveiling their brand new scratch card game, Maxilead Metals Director, Tom Clay announced, “Everyone could do with the extra money at Christmas.” He added, “That’s why we are inviting everyone to scratch and win this Christmas.”
You may remember the local scrap metal dealer running a similar competition last year where the company gave away £1000, to one lucky winner. Tom commented that, “due to the success of last year’s competition we wanted more people to have the chance of winning a cash prize.” He added that, “everyone enjoys the National Lottery scratch cards, so we wanted to devise our very own cards for Christmas.”
As well as giving you the chance to win cash this Christmas, the metal processors are still providing the public and commercial customers with the best prices for their scrap metal.
Tom stated, “We want to encourage people to recycle their metal and that’s why we give our customers the best prices.” He added that, “During the festive period, we want to thank all of our customers and let them experience Maxilead Metals festive spirit.”

After months of hard work, the Northwest’s No.1 Scrap Metal processors finally received their certificate last week.
Speaking on behalf of the Environmental Management team, Anna Clay stated that, “The certification proves that Maxilead are growing from strength to strength.” She added that, “As an internationally recognised standard the award will ensure that our enviro impacts and aspects are consistently managed, monitored and achieved at all times.”
With a unprecedented working ethos, Maxilead’s hard working team are to thank for the ISO achievement.
Anna commented, “We all work extremely well together and hopefully we will continue to thrive and push the business forward in these tough economic times.”
Maxilead Metals have recently launched their “Scrap’ll Do Nicely” Campaign to create brand awareness.

To help spread the “Scrap’ll Do Nicely” message we have commissioned a number of local cab drivers to display our adverts as well as strategically placing a number of Billboards around the local area.
Blythe Knight, winner of more than £400,000 in prize money, has run his last race after being granted “honourable retirement.”
The nine year old, trained by John Quinn won successive running’s of the Group 3 Diomed stakes at the Epsom Derby meeting in both 2007 and 2008 and, as well as being a high-quality hurdler, winning a Grade 3 race at Aintree, he also landed the 2006 Lincoln.
Winning 10 of his 75 races, Blythe Knight’s final success came at Chester last season in the listed ‘City Plate Stakes.’
Trainer Quinn stated, “The time is right for him to finish, his legs are fine, but he’s got a few niggles and earlier this season, after he pulled a muscle, it took him six weeks to come right, which was a sure sign that age is beginning to catch up with him.”
Blythe Knight will now enjoy his retirement where he has trained over the past 4 years at Quinn’s Stables in Malton, Yorkshire.

As part of Maxilead Metals investment in people program, all employees have undergone refresher training courses to help improve safety in various aspects of their job.
An outside training company attended our site to conduct a number of courses including Fort Lift Training, Manual Handling, and Skid Steer courses.

As part of the companys continued investment it is hoped that the latest site will keep customers up to date with all the latest news about the company as well as inform them about their extensive range of services.
Managing Director, Peter Clay stated that, “As customer visits to our previous website were increasing on a monthly basis we thought it would be of benefit to include more features and further information.”
Not one, but two of Maxilead Metals race horses won in style this week at Chester and Catterick Races.
The two horses, Metal Solider and Duchess Dora both showed their class, with impressive performances on the day.

The lucky competition winner, 25 year old Civil Engineer, Jordan Smith from Stockport was presented with his prize money just in time for Christmas. Jordan who works at Kennedy Asphalt in Astley, Manchester commented, “I was at work when my Dad phoned to tell me he’d just received a phone call to say that I’d won.” He added that, ”I couldn’t believe it when I found out, I never win anything.”
Maxilead Metals Managing Director, Peter Clay announced, “The competition has been great, it not only gave our customers and local people the chance to help beat the credit crunch but also helped demonstrate the festive spirit of the business.”
Jordan who lives in Stockport has visited Maxilead Metals on a number of occasions to weigh in various types of scrap metal. He commented that “Maxilead Metals always given me top prices for my scrap metal, however I’ve got to say this has definitely been the easiest money that I’ve ever made.”
Maxilead Metals have invested in a £3.5 Million state of the art recycling centre.
The Manchester based company, which now operates from a 7 acre, fully environment agency licensed site has more than doubled its number of employees and capabilities to recycle both ferrous and non ferrous metals. Due to greater customer demand and ‘Maxileads’ constant business development program, the companies investment has involved the purchase of adjoining land to the well established “Tyldesley based site.”
MD Peter Clay stated that, “We are always constantly developing and growing by responding to the metal recycling needs of the industry and of our customers”. He added that, “As well as offering high prices for metal, we want to ensure that our customers receive exceptional levels of service from state of the art facilities .”
Maxilead Metals new facilities now boasts, Over 90,000 sq ft of Internal Warehouse Space, 2 x 50 tonne Weighbridges, Secure Metal Storage, Segregation Bays, Sorting Facilities, and Loading Bays for Container Export.
With contracts Nationwide and soaring metal prices, the successful company have seen continued growth over the past few years. They are now managing thousands of tonnes of materials a year from consumers, industry and demolition works.
